Our methods and goals may be the same, but the positions we start in and therfore our perceptions of our means and ends are not. To focus on what people have in common will lead to perception of simmilarities, and foster not only good intentions but good results. In the end we are all working towards the same goal of living in happiness. In the securement of life people who feel threatened deffend themselves to the extent possible, doing damage to the victimizer and making the causation of harm detrimental to humanity as a whole. People commit violence because it may bring them personal or temporary benefit, and they either ignore or do not see that the net effect is purely negative. The truth is that we have enough physical and intellectual resources to support everybody, only greed and ignorance are blocking the way.
