Please sign-up for the science carnival. I would like everyone to do two 20 minute presentations or one 50 minute presentation. I suspect most of you will do  20 minute presentations. Part of your demonstration will probably include demonsrating what you have built or your experiment. If your work does not lend itself to a demonstration of some kind you can either present to other Evergreen students by selecting College as your target audience, or you can volunteer to staff the fun physics room. If you have questions about what to signup for please let me know.

The Spring Quarter website is up. Please pay special attention to the seminar book list, which you may want to order online as soon as possible. You should have read There are No Electrons by Monday of week 1, so if you do not have that book yet please get it from the book store soon. Also, read the project information handout. It give details about the requirements for the project you will be doing this quarter. Finally have a look at the Week 1 schedule, so you know what is coming up. For a longer look at the spring quarter topics check out the Spring Quarter syllabus.

Given the snowy conditions on the roads and prospect for more snow on the way today, Rebecca and I have decided to cancel classes today. David will be in my office from 10:00-12:00 for any students who happen to be on campus, in case you wish to ask questions, but don't make a special trip in for this. We want you to be safe. We'll keep you posted about tomorrow's plans.
