Captain Chaotica:
"Taking a Bite Outta Swine"
Treatment
Captain Chaotica: Taking a Bite Outta Swine, is a narrative super hero movie developed by myself, Lorrain Johnson, and Don Kiger. It is about a super hero who saves crime. She stands up to police in helping victims of what she feels are unjust laws. The character and story are based off a comic book Lorrain has recently begun writing. The plot is simple and classic of comic book super heroes, involving Captain Chaotica versus her arch nemesis, the police chief, and the trap he lays for her. The film will be shot on digital video, edited in Premiere, and may involve some special effects done with AfterEffects.
The film is meant to be a fun and funny adventurous romp through a city with bully police and a super hero who must protect the inhabitants from them. However, both Captain Chaotica and the authors of this script feel that certain laws in this country infringe on individuals rights and allow police to make personal decisions for them. Although this film is intended to be fun and games, there is definitely an anti-police-state message to it. We feel that over-policing is becoming a problem both at Evergreen and in communities everywhere. If the people cant stand up for themselves, then we need a hero. We need Captain Chaotica.
In traditional super hero style, the plot, characters, and dialogue are rather flat. The emphasis of this film will be the humor of the slightly warped classic super hero drama, and the rich detail in costumes and scenery. The piece will reflect both a dark gothic, and comic book style. This will be accomplished by colorful sets, punk/gothic style costumes, and creative titling. The production will employ the use of warm lighting using red, orange, and yellow gels for scenes involving the citys people. The scenes at the police headquarters will be crisp, cold blue and white. The overall lighting will also be high in contrast and use shadows to further the seedy feeling of the city. Outdoor scene location will be chosen carefully to show a city with an industrial look.
The diversity and detail of the "peoples" punk inspired costumes will contrast against the identical uniforms of the police. This functions to cause the viewer to be interested in the people Captain Chaotica saves, and therefore more sympathetic. Captain Chaotica herself will have a dramatic costume, mixing elements of classic super hero and dominatrix styles.
The titles and credits will be drawn by Lorrain Johnson in the style of the Captain Chaotica comic she is currently producing. This extends to the end credits being drawings of the characters with text organically worked into the frame; for example, in speech bubbles.
As a super hero, Captain Chaotica will be doing some fighting. Although her weapon of choice is a billy club named "The Piglet Punisher," the finale fight sequence will be done pro-wrestling style. Currently negotiations are underway to get two members of the Pacific Wrestling Federation (Eric Pickett and Emily Palmer) and two other ultra wrestling aficionados (Ted Cohen and Kendall McCormick) to help choreograph the finale fight.
Lorrain Johnson and Don Kiger will be assisting in the production of Captain Chaotica: Taking a Bite Outta Swine. They will both be responsible for transportation, and playing roles in the film. Lorrain will play Felicia Spangltit, a doughnut shop employee who acts as a hot tipper for Captain Chaotica, and Don will play the arch nemesis, Chief Kiger (working name). They will also be helping grip for lights, and help with the camera work, as I will be playing Captain Chaotica herself. Although Lorrain and Don will help in any other ways they can, I will be responsible for producing, directing, casting, acting and post production.
