Jamie Lynn Colley

Jamie Lynn Colley trained under Dr. Ratna Roy in the mahari tradition of Padmashri Guru Pankaj Charan Das and completed the curriculum at The Evergreen State College. She has gone through exended programs, such as "Dance and Therapy," "The Dance of the Goddess." Jamie has also studied Indian history, culture, literature, and folklore extensively. She has completed her Masters Degree in Education at Antioch University in spring 2003.

Since Fall 2000, Jamie has taught both the Beginning and the Intermediate Orissi Dance modules, through Part-time Studies. Since Fall 2001, she has been working extensively on the basics of Orissi/Odissi dance, including flexibility and strengthening exercises and yoga in her Beginning Orissi class. She is completing her certification in Laban Movement Analysis and is applying her learning to a dance choreography by Guru Pankaj Charan Das as her research project.

In August, 2003, Jamie performed a solo to acclaim at the Second International Odissi Festival in Washington, DC.
