Week Five Report--
Requested faculty- David Rutledge
I'm taking reconciliation this fall because this is my third year of
study at Evergreen and I feel like I have no more direction now than
I
did when I started here. I figured this class would give me
time
and space to explore areas that interest me and then I could get
into a
program or contract feeling more confident about my studies and
goals.
I started the quarter thinking I would concentrate solely on collage
art. However, as the quarter progresses, I can't help but feel
that this is not a very productive use of my time. Looking for
something more substantial to study, I started to read about
taoism. Currently I am learning about zen and
meditation.
Really I would like to spend my time in this class writing. I
plan to concentrate my efforts for the rest of the quarter on such a
project. I am giving myself a five week warning because I don't
think I
have used my time as productively as possible and I should have had
a
better outline for my work this quarter before I started. I'm
not
sure if I will continue reconciling next quarter so I can't give a
date
for my presentation.
