The Blue Mountains - West of Sydney a couple of hours
I only made it to the Blue Mountains for a one day trip, but managed to pack in a whole bunch during the day... saw some kangaroos in the wild (they looked quite relaxed), waterfalls, the 3 sisters rock formation ( not sure why everywhere you go there is inevitably a # sisters of one sort or another?!), visited their version of the grand canyon, and went down the worlds steepest train (also I think the quickest!). I guess they are called the blue mountains b/c the eucalyptus oils give off a bluey hue... or so Vince, the tour guide, told me!
