My trip back to my 'birth-land' UK and Ireland

After 30(!) years of being born in Scotland I can at last say that I can actually remember being there! As a reward to myself for the completion of my MS (defended on August 26th), I used airmiles (compliments of Rob) to head back to the UK and also to check out Ireland. I first used my Britrail pass to venture throughout Scotland, then spent a few days visiting my friend Nicole (who I've known since our days in the dorms at UBC!), and then I flew to Dublin to meet my friend Jen Burke (who lives in Seattle) and we rented a car. Driving on the left AND on the narrowest roads I have ever experienced(!) was quite the adventure. We toured around the southern half of Ireland, and met up with my former roommate Vickie (who I lived with at Alice's house in Van for 2 years, and now lives in Cork). All of the reunions were wonderful, as were the many beautiful locations we visited!
