Women's World Cup Downhill Race - St. Moritz

Needing to experience European sporting, we headed to St. Moritz in the southwest part of CH. As you can see in the pictures the only snow they were racing on was stuff that came out of the machine. Definitely needed some snow there! The race was fun to be at, although I was sad that while they had flags for every other country, there weren't any Canadian flags to be had. A swiss chick, Sylvie Berthod took home the gold and another Swiss had bronze so they were celebrating that evening! I chatted with the last racer of the day... a Canuck from near Montreal. The village of St. Moritz is for folks with money burning holes in their wallets (certainly not us!) and we were amazed at the cost of clothing advertised in windows... 500.00 wasn't extreme for a sweater or skirt! I liked the looks of the lake for skating, but Rob said no way in !#$ would he go skating on that ice b/c it looked too thin. I guess it was because on the news a few days after we left we saw that several people ended up falling through. Guess I should learn to listen to Rob more often :)
