Sphinx project faculty meeting Minutes

Date: March 12th , 2:30 pm       Location: LIB 3500

 

Attendance: Randy, Steve, Geoff, Alex, & Kate

Kate’s opening thoughts:

For the project notebook: Each of us needs to state;

1.      What your learning objective were for the quarter

2.      What your actual contributions were

3.      What did you learn

4.      What do you want to change for next quarter

 

Our notebook needs to contain a “Milestone log”. Kate gave us a handout of what this should look like as well as a notebook deliverables guideline

 

Project notebook is due Monday 3-18-02 at 8:00 am

 

Item 1: Presentation to class:

 

How long? 25 minutes, includes 7 to 10 minutes of Q & A

What is our time slot? 10:00 am to 10:25

Where are they going to be held? Lib 2205

Item 2: Treats

 

How many people to feed: 40 +/-

What other groups are going to be brining treats? Kate & Judy do not know.

What about plates, cups, napkins, utensils? We should supply them

 

Randy will bring doughnuts; Alex will bring OJ; Steve cups; & Geoff napkins

 

Item 3: Next quarter Technical Component?

 

Are we going to have one? Probably not, but if we did, swing would be a good candidate

 

Item 4: What to do over the break

 

We will continue to meet Monday, Thursday & Friday nights and decide as we go

 

Item 5: Other issues…

 

We will meet with Kate at 11:00 am Wednesday (tomorrow) in the ACC to go through our demonstration. Randy will send email reminder

 

Presentation objectives:

1.      To get practice demonstrating

2.      Give status and objective of project

3.      Give something of interest of value to the class

 

 

Randy will communicate with Kelly to let him know the state of the project and to manage expectations. Restate “proof of concept” idea and give end of quarter recap with clearly defined criteria for sucsess.
