Range

Costa Rica (Pe–as Blancas Valley at 800m elevation, Volcan Barva transect from 500 to 1100m elevation).

Identification

Mandibles with 7 teeth, gradually diminishing in size toward base; preocular carina extending all the way back to the vertex margin, forming ventral border of antennal scrobe.

Natural History

This species inhabits mid-elevation wet forest on the Atlantic slope of Costa Rica. Workers have been collected in Winkler samples of sifted leaf litter from the forest floor, and alate queens have been collected in Malaise trap samples.
