Identification
The same as Pheidole JTL-104, differing only in the presence of long erect setae on hind tibia. Minor worker: head length 0.46mm, head width 0.44mm, scape length 0.35mm, Webers length 0.52mm (n=1). Major worker: head length 0.85mm, head width 0.78mm, scape length 0.39mm (n=1).
Also very similar to P. specularis. Minors of JTL-143 differ from specularis in more dense and uniform foveolation on side of petiole and postpetiole; propodeal spines not quite as long; postpetiole in dorsal view more trapezoidal (more oval in specularis). Majors of JTL-143 differ from specularis in more dense and uniform foveolate sculpture on vertex lobes; postpetiole in dorsal view more trapezoidal (more transverse, with sides more acutely angular in specularis).
