Range
Costa Rica: southern Pacific lowlands.
Identification
Minor worker similar to P. ruida in size, shape, and sculpture, but frontal carinae greatly expanded and elevated. Major also like P. ruida, frontal carinae somewhat expanded and elevated, but not as extreme as minor worker.
Similar species: ruida.
Natural History
A common leaflitter species at southern end of Osa Peninsula; common in Winkler samples.
