Costa Rica (Cordillera de Talamanca, Las Alturas, 1200m).
Minor worker: unknown.
Major worker: head subcircular; lateral margins of head, anterior face, and clypeus with moderately abundant, short, clavate setae; face micropunctate medially, grading to shallowly microreticulate over much of surface, sublucid throughout; scapes with abundant erect setae; face black with anterior portion yellow; first gastral tergite with moderately abundant yellow appressed pubescence and moderately abundant erect setae.
Similar species: cuneidorsus.
I have only seen one major worker and one alate queen, from treefalls near Las Alturas, an area of montane cloud forest.
