Bio

Dr. Li is the Director of the Mapping and GIS Laboratory, affiliate faculty at the Center for Mapping, and Professor of Geoinformation and Geodetic Science at the Dept. of Civil and Environmental Engineering and Geodetic Science of The Ohio State University. He has been teaching since 1984. His research interests focus on geographic information systems (GIS), land information systems (LIS), photogrammetry, remote sensing and applications involving coastal mapping, environmental monitoring and transportation.

Dr. Li is a certified photogrammist and a member of the American Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing, the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), the Urban and Regional Information Systems Association (URISA), and a life member of Pacific Congress on Marine Technologies (PACON). He is also a member of the Committee on National Needs for Coastal Mapping and Charting, The U.S. National Academies.
