Bio

Bill Backous is a professional engineer and Manager of the Washington Department of Ecology's Environmental Assessment Program. In that capacity, he oversees the major science arm of the Department of Ecology with responsibilty for implementing statewide water quality and sediment monitoring programs, developing water quality models and water quality clean-up plans, operating the state's Manchester Environmental Laboratory, and overseeing the state's laboratory accreditation program.
