Breakout Sessions
Information for Breakout Session Leaders
Breakout Session Deliverables
The Breakout Sessions provide time for participants to work together on key areas of the Workshop results. Breakout II builds on results from Breakout I, and Breakout III from both Breakout I and Breakout II. Breakout Session deliverables are:
- Presentation to the Workshop Plenary,
- 1-3 page power-point,
- Written text of the Breakout findings.
Breakout Session leaders are asked to get the electronic versions of the powerpoints and text to to Tyrone (for Breakout I), or Judy (for Breakout II and III) as soon as they are ready. Thanks!
You may be asked, in the few weeks following the workshop, for clarification regarding the results of your breakout session, and we will send you 1-2 drafts of the report so that you have an opportunity to confirm results of your breakout session(s)
You might want to designate an official scribe, and move onto your laptop or the scribe’s laptop the starter breakout topic definition that was given you.
Breakout Session II leaders: we are asking you to facilitate breakout session III as well as II. If that is not going to work with you, please check in with Judy or Tyrone and they will find a replacement for you.
Note that individual breakout III’s do not have a topic definition – the topic is the same as for Breakout II, but the objective is to find a scenario from the Breakout I Session that would be solved by one of the research issues your breakout group identified in Breakout II. Your mission is to flesh out that domain problem, in light of that research issue. This will morph into the “who gives a d… if we do and who gives a d… if we don’t” part of our report.
