Tricholoma pardinum is also somewhat similar in appearance to a Lyophyllum and even shares its white spore print. Tricholoma pardinum grows singly. It can cause an extremely severe gastrointestinal distress. The toxin is unknown. The genus Tricholoma is a large genus with both many edible species and many poisonous species. There are many challenges for the taxonomist and few distinctive features to help.
