Slide 41.
Hypholoma fasciculare, the Green-Gilled Wood-Lover or Sulfur Tuft, has a sulfur yellow cap and gills, though the gills turn purplish black as the spores mature. Hypholoma fasciculare has caused deaths in Europe and in Asia, though no poisonings are reported from North America, possibly due to its generally bitter taste. Hypholoma fasciculare is easily confused with Hypholoma capnoides and sometimes even with Honey Mushrooms.
