Hygrophoropsis aurantiaca also superficially resembles a Yellow Chanterelle but its forking gills are thin and not blunt like a Chanterelle. The taste of Hygrophoropsis aurantiaca is said to resemble that of decaying leaves. It is also thin and not meaty like a Chanterelle.
