Introduction to Fall Mushrooms

Ramaria cystidiophora var. citronella is one of a host of yellow Ramaria species that fruit in the fall. Ramaria cystidiophora var. citronella is distinguished by a delightful odor of citrus. I leave these beautiful species where I see them so that others can enjoy their beauty. Getting the identification correct is quite difficult and none of the Fall Ramaria species are either meaty enough or easy enough to clean to make them worth gathering for the table.
