Slide 15.
Gomphus floccosus is a type of chanterelle and shows the characteristic blunt forking ridges characteristic of the Chanterelles and allies. Gomphus floccosus, the Woolly Chanterelle, is eaten by some individuals but is not recommended. It can cause vomiting, diarrhea and central nervous system depression. There are two other similar woolly Chanterelles, Gomphus bonarii and Gomphus kaufmanii that should also be avoided.
