Slide 52.
Tricholoma flavovirens is another widely distributed species that can be a bit tricky to identify correctly. Look for it late in the season under pines, especially in sandy areas where it can fruit in stunning abundance. The cap is sticky in wet weather and is yellow with a brownish center. The gills are a beautiful yellow. Tricholoma flavovirens is a good edible but not one that I eat because there are so many poisonous Tricholoma species and you have to be on your toes not to make a mistake.
