The Oyster Mushroom, Pleurotus ostreatus is an exceptionally widespread choice edible mushroom that can grow year-round in favorable conditions. It prefers to grow on deciduous trees, but can appear on conifers. Worldwide, there is a vast array of edible Oyster mushroom species in colors ranging from tan to yellow to salmon. They are easily cultivated and easily identified. Spore prints range from white to a beautiful lilac.
