Slide 64.
Lactarius scrobiculatus shares the crisp texture of a Russula but when the flesh is broken moist specimens ooze droplets of liquid. With Lactarius scrobiculatus, the white latex quickly turns yellow. If tasted raw, this mushroom is burning-acrid and causes stomach upset. Some people cook and eat Lactarius scrobiculatus whereupon it looses the burning hot taste but sometimes it remains toxic and causes gastric distress.
