Peziza repanda is a common species throughout North America.
There are several similar species that can readily be separated using a
microscope. Peziza repanda is reportedly edible but I have
never tried it and do not feel that I can readily identify it without using
a microscope on every specimen, a tedious process to complicate dinner
preparation.
