Otidea onotica is one of several Rabbit Ear mushrooms in the genus Otidea that appear spring through fall under both hardwoods and conifers. Otidea onotica is reported to contain monomethyl hydrazine, a suspected carcinogen. Besides, it is thin-fleshed and seldom found in quantity.
