Slide 47.
Tricholoma pardinum in some years causes a significant
percentage of the poisonings reported in Europe. Between 15 minutes and
two hours after a meal of this mushroom, victims experience violent illness
marked by vomiting and diarrhea sometimes accompanied by malaise and dizziness.
Full recovery takes up to a week. The cause is unknown. Tricholoma venenatum,
a very similar species is also reported to cause significant gastric distress.
