T-even DatabaseThanks to the collaborative efforts among members in the T4 community there has been great advances in the understanding of T4 genes, proteins and information on related phages. In spite of a clear interest to share knowledge there is a lack of an efficient and rapid method to compile and organize the vast amounts of information that are now available. A T4 database is currently under construction to provide an easy way to access and analyze these data. My work has been focusing on organizing data related to T-even phages in Microsoft Access. I compiled information on phage history, morphology, antigenic components, plating efficiency, polymorphism, phage sources, primers, PCR, and sequencing. In the future, I plan to integrate this data into the T4 database. Return to top.
