Lesson Six
Discovering the Physical Geography of Washington
Purpose:
To begin to develop a mental map of Washington State,and envision its physical geography.
Objectives:

2.3 identify the patterns humans make on places and regions

Length of Time Required:
One hour on line.
Materials:
Procedure:
Step 1: Start with a short discussion of the effects of physiography on people, places, flora, fauna and weather, this will make the lesson relevant and spark interest.
Step 2: Hand out a copy of the lesson directions and questions.
Step 3: Make online computers available. The relief map in the Virtual Atlas is fascinating and a good place to start.
Step 4. If the students are unfamiliar with the Virtual Atlas they may need some assistance.
