11:30AM

15.2 miles

Location: (UTM) 11T04729852/5229713

Temperature and Weather: 50 degrees, windy and cloudy, after raining

Habitat: Been walking through small man-made canyon of mostly basalt (?) wheat fields and grassland - wildflowers: lupin, many big clumps of large yellow flowers that resemble sunflowers, also small yellow, white and pink. Just outside of Rosalia, near large highway. Some king of blooming trees - look like apple blossoms, but tree is more sprawling than upright - maybe shrub. One tall pine tree, short grasses. Trail muddy in some parts, pretty fresh deer prints.

Passed mile 15 marker on trail. One hawk sited, not much other wildlife.
