The temperature is about 75 degrees at 1400 feet.
I made a crown out of the brush on our walk today. I'll take a picture of it but I think it displays every type of flower I've seen today. I also saw what looked like a Western Yellow-belly Racer snake. It was dead though and my book has limited pictures of snakes - so, I'm not sure. On our way into the city of Lind I met a really sweet horse. She really made my day. She came right up to me and let me pet her, hug her and play with her a little. Seeing all the horses out here reminds me of how much I want one.
Everyone in Lind was very interested in the straggly bunch of hikers that wafted into their little town. We all had locals coming up to us and asking what the hell we were doing in Lind. Today was definitely a day of detours - the long detour into and out of Lind made the walk a little frustrating. We didn't end up hiking very far at all. I have five new blisters which really suck 'cause tomorrow is a full pack ten mile day. Found another shell today.
