Location: (UTM) 11T0271523/5195039, 1000ft.

Temperature and Weather: 75 degrees, clear and sunny, no breeze

Habitat: Dry and rocky, sagebrush and short grass.  Small daisies blooming and purple sage.  One horned lizard found in flat rocky area.

100 miles

Location: 10T0719618/5194642; 1700ft.

Temperature and Weather: 85 degrees, little breeze, sunny and hot

Habitat: A few types of sagebrush, lots of tall blue-purple lupin, linear leaf daisy, yarrow, some kind of blue-purple snapdragon, a few patches of small, bright yellow Oregon sunshine, purple sage.  Very dry and rocky, exposed soil - more desert-like, one medium-sized brown and black rattlesnake spotted on trail, one rabbit, lots of grasshoppers and small green insects that bite.
