Nighttime

We did it!  We made it to Rattlesnake Lake early this evening which is the last of our expedition across the state.  What a crazy trip its been.  It's hard to contemplate and understand what our journey has been and now that it's over.  It's been weirder to imagine returning back to Olympia and resuming everyday life.  None of these notions have sunk into my brain yet.  Instead I lie in my sleeping bag once again writing by my forever dying head lamp listening to a chorus of crickets accompanied by an occasional cluck of a goose.  We are spending our last night camping at Rattlesnake Lake where a van will take us back to reality tomorrow.

Today was intense.  The group covered 15 miles.  I added 2 extra miles during a scouting mission making my personal all time highest mileage day of 17 miles.  My feet are in pain.  I'll have to say that the pizza we had delivered to the parking lot really helped soothe them.
