155 miles

Location: End of Snoqualmie Tunnel, 2500 ft, 10T0617325/5250299

Temperature and Weather:

About 70 degrees, mostly clear and sunny

Habitat:

Near Portal creek waterfall.  Lots of alders on creek sides.  Cedar trees and douglas firs mostly, also a few large deciduous shrubs.  Dandelions blooming           all over.  Bracken fern on hillsides, devil's club and red-cap berry bushes starting to grow.  Also salmon berry bushes in bloom...first of trip.  Still a few           patches of yellow violets.  We are over the summit now, more plant life, leaves on trees are larger - heading into summer or deeper into spring.
