Temperature and Weather:

          60 degrees, clear and sunny

Habitat:

          Douglas fir and cedar forest with alder (leaves almost full-size).  Sword ferns, bracken ferns, dying trillium, dandelions, salal, also lots of small grasses,           weeds and moss in underbrush.  Bleeding hearts, too.  Mountainous area with some clear cuts and lots of second growth forest.  A few small areas of old           growth.

Temperature and Weather:

          67 degrees, sunny with a few clouds

Habitat:

          Western hemlock, cedar, douglas fir, alder, vine maple, red-cap (thimble berry), salmon berry, bracken fern, and sword fern, salal, devil's club.  Saw some           Indian paintbrush, forget-me-nots, and some small purple flowers growing in the rocks.  The bushes are fuller and underbrush is more developed.  Trillium           no longer blooming.  Salmon berries have green berries now.  Still going over many cold, clear, fast-flowing streams.  Rocky hillsides.  Lot of second           growth forest.  

          About 169 miles total walked.
