Western Redcedar Zone
At moderate altitudes in moist locales in the northeastern portion of the region, this zone occurs between the more xeric Grand Fir and Douglas-fir zones and the spruce-fir type. Dominant trees include western redcedar, western hemlock, and western white pine (Pinus monticola), but grand fir and western larch are found in drier sites. Understory unions in this zone are often similar to those of the Grand Fir and Douglas-fir zones.
