Community Research
Community research focuses on the place, both within its boundaries and in interactions with other places. What is important at a local level can be compared to its importance in (or across) state, regional, national, or international contexts. A community lives in the environment, which can have an impact on the community, and the community can profoundly affect the environment.
This site serves as a portal to explore the social demographics, political, geographical, and environmental aspects of communities. The focus is on Olympia, Thurston, and Washington State, though you will be able to explore many of our neighbors. The resources are loosely categorized but often overlap, especially in their geographic focus.
