Recognizing Source Quality
1. Brainstorm session (30 minutes)
*Group will enumerate what a quality source should include based on their own experience
*Group will enumerate what constitutes an untrustworthy source
2. Group will split in half
3. First half to the library to explore for quality sources (based on earlier discussion)
4. Other half to computer center to explore for quality web sites (again based on earlier discussion)
5 Return to classroom (1 hour) to discuss findings. Are there criteria that we did not include that should have been? Ones that were included that should not have been? Are there formal review resources that can help with the determination of source quality?
Be sure to work collabratively in your explorations.
