Scavenger Hunt

Find the following areas, sources, and possibilities in the Library and bring back to the class some evidence to show what you discover.  You wll be in teams and can proceed either as a group or split up responsibility for some of the tasks between group members.  If you split the task all members of your group must be shown where and how you found the solution prior to your returning to the classroomYou have one (1) hour to complete this exercise.

*Place to go to get your passport to the library

*A place for neophyte lawyers.

*A room of old or special books

*Government Information real and virtual

*History as it pertains to the college

*Books and Information that help you find more

*A source that offers generalized knowledge

*A source depicting your mother tongue and telling you how it got that way (Name source specific to the English Language or the type of source that applies to any language)

*Locate  three physical ways in which information can be provided - procure some kind of evidence to show the class what you have found (may require using a copier)

*Provide a convincing argument for why some resources are upstairs (third floor) and some are on the main floor (second floor).  Find a graphic rendition of the two floors that may help you with your explanation.

*A place for beginning teachers and a resource for educators

*A resource for environmental scientists and ecologists

*Quick information please

*If using the body as a metaphor, what is the library’s “brain”, its “heart”, its circulatory system?  Can you derive other analogies?

*Where can you find physical sources not made of paper?  Where can you go to use these materials or get what is needed to access their information?

*Get something from the library consultants and find out who and what they do. By what title are they referred to?
