Melissa Carter moved to Olympia, Washington, with her cat in the summer of 2002 and is finishing her undergraduate degree at the Evergreen State College. The Protecting Washington Wildness program introduced her to different wild areas across the state, and as she continues her academic education she will continue to explore the wildness of Washington.
