Anthony Robert Bush was born and raised near the Rocky Mountains in Denver, Colorado. He moved to Olympia, Washington, to attend The Evergreen State College and to study ecology and the environment. Tony grew up watching as urban sprawl took over formerly wild areas of his youth. This propelled him to work on preserving and regenerating what wildness is left, especially in more urbanized areas .
