SHOPPING LIST FOR SOUTHEASTERN BRAZIL RECIPES

Meat:
1⁄2 lb. salt pork, cured
1⁄2 lb. lean smoken bacon
1-1/2 lb. pork ribs
1⁄2 lb. smoked ham hocks
2 large Portuguese sausages (linguiça)

Dairy:
4 T butter
2 c. whole milk
5 eggs

Produce:
3 large onions
1 head of garlic
3 large bunches of collard greens
3 large tomatoes
1⁄2 c. parsley
1 small jalapeño pepper
7 limes
thyme

Grains:
2-1/2 c. long grain white rice

Miscellaneous:
1-1/2 lb. black beans
3 bay leaves
2 c. olive oil
2 c. manioc flour
2 c. sugar
2 c. canned, sweetened condensed milk
1 c. orange juice
1⁄2 c. white vinegar
12 oz. cachaça liqueur (may be replaced by vodka)
