SHOPPING LIST FOR SWEDEN RECIPES

Note: Before you shop, look at the cookie recipes and decide how many complete batches you are going to make. This shopping list includes ingredients for each batch (see below, under dessert).

Meat:
2 lbs ground beef
1 lb. ground pork

Dairy:
2 eggs
1-1/2 c. milk (or cream)
1 T. heavy cream

Produce:
1/4 c. parsley
1 English cucumber
2 large heads of cabbage
2 onions
3 medium boiled, peeled potatoes
2 lbs tiny red, white or fingerling potatoes

Miscellaneous:
2 T flour
1 stick butter
2 T white vinegar (Swedish if possible)
black pepper
salt
1/2 t soy sauce (optional)
1 jar lingonberry or cranberry sauce

Dessert:
For each batch of cookie dough:
2 eggs
2 sticks minus 2 T butter
2 1/4 c. flour
2/3 c. granulated sugar

Miscellaneous:
2-4 T. cocoa powder
1/2 c. pearl or decorator’s sugar
1/2 c. chopped, blanched almonds
1/4 c. cinnamon sugar
1 t. vanilla (optional)

Beverages:
Water or soda
